Combination Panoramic & Cone Beam 3D CT Imaging
With the PaX-Duo3D Imaging, dentistry has taken a huge leap, literally adding a new dimension to assist us with the assessment and treatment planning for our patients. Two dimensional imagining provides limited information, but the 3- dimensional images provide all the data and diagnostic tools to evaluate a specific area. The images also provide invaluable information to the patient, making it easier to understand why a procedure needs to be done, and making them feel more confident in their decisions.
The PaX-Duo3D Cone Beam CT features Auto-Switching technology to allow switching between panoramic and Cone Beam CT sensors, without doing it manually. PaX-Duo3D allows the advanced 3D scan for patients, but can quickly rotate for a 2D scan. A dedicated sensor for each system provides superior image quality for an effective patient treatment plan.
The Cone Beam technology is integrated with implant planning tools that allow us to quickly and easily locate crucial landmarks such as nerves, and verify implant placement prior to implant surgery. We can also use these images to verify there is nothing pathological occurring in a patients jaw such as abscesses, impacted teeth, bone loss, or various lesions.
The sterilization area is the heart of the office’s overall cleanliness. We store all of our instruments in sterilized wrapped cassettes and bags, which undergo a thorough sterilization process. Our procedural cassettes are first placed in our Miele disinfecting instrument washer. When this part of the process is completed the cassettes and instruments within them are 99% disinfected. The cassettes are then wrapped and placed into one of our hospital grade autoclaves and fully sterilized.
Digital X-Rays
Offering superior resolution with up to 75 percent less radiation exposure, the digital radiography (x-rays) at our office is an excellent way to help diagnose possible oral problems. The digital radiograph not only emits less than half the amount of radiation associated with traditional x-rays, but is also a faster and more comfortable process. Using a sensor that is placed in your mouth in the correct position, the pictures are taken and immediately sent to our computer. We can then review the information with you right from the computer screen.
Benefits of Digital X-Rays:
- Our patients are exposed to 75 percent less radiation than with traditional x-rays.
- Images are transferred digitally to a monitor for the doctor to review with the patient and explain needed treatments.
- Images can be saved digitally for future reference.
- We can spend more time taking care of your dental needs rather than developing traditional x-rays.
Sopro Life Intra-oral Camera
The Sopro Life Intra-oral Camera allows our doctors to take close-up pictures of the teeth and gums, and have a more clear view of the inside of the patient’s mouth. These images can be enlarged and viewed on a computer monitor by both the doctor and patient, enabling earlier and better diagnosis of many oral conditions and explanation of such to the patient.
Not only can the Sopro Life Intra-oral Camera project images of the teeth and gums, with it’s light-induced fluorescence evaluator decay is also able to be detected. During the dental examination, the teeth are viewed with the light, and any decay will appear red. A photo of the tooth can be taken and saved on the computer, documenting the area of decay.
During your examination, a series of digital X-rays will be taken. Then, LOGICON will be used to evaluate the X-rays, and any suspicious dentinal areas will be tested. After which, a determination will be made as to whether these areas should be monitored or restored.

Are you suffering from migraine and/or tension headaches on a consistent basis? If so, you’re not alone. There are millions of people fighting the same debilitating battle every day, trying to live their lives to the best of their abilities while dealing with reoccurring headaches.
Some people are frustrated with traditional treatment options. Others haven’t found success. Still, others are searching for a way to prevent their headaches from returning. Regardless of which group you fall into, we have a solution that has already helped many of our patients find relief from headache pain: the NTI-tss Dental Device.
NTI-tss stands for Nociceptive Trigeminal Inhibition – tension suppression system, which is a huge phrase for a device that is actually fairly simple. The NTI-tss Dental Device is a small, custom-made night guard that fits securely and comfortably over your front teeth. The patented design of the NTI-tss allows a gentle separation of your canine and back teeth, helping to minimize the force of your clench and relax the muscles in your head.
This safe and effective treatment is FDA-cleared, reduces pain, and is indicated for migraine prevention. If you’re tired of fighting the endless battle of migraine and/ or tension headaches, the NTI-tss Dental Device may be the solution you’ve been searching for.
Dental Bite Guards
The technical term for clenching and grinding your teeth is referred to as Bruxism. Many times people are completely unaware of the fact this biting down too hard when they shouldn’t be, and a lot of the time in their sleep. Some people also believe their teeth should be touching at all times, yet this too is a misconception. Unfortunately, most are not diagnosed with bruxism until it’s too late and don’t even realize this habit has been ongoing.
Some signs which may trigger bruxism:
- Patients with nervous tension or a hard time handling stress
- People who struggle with anger, pain and frustration
- People who may be aggressive, competitive or hurried
We are able to notice physical signs of bruxism, yet may be observed over multiple visits, before recommending therapy. Some patients may be able to overcome the problem by changing their behavior. Others may need to wear a custom plastic mouth appliance, referred to as a night guard, to reduce the pressure and absorb the force of biting.

With this technology, Dr. Kest and his team are able to find your ideal jaw position that will increase your upper body strength and improve your balance. The PPM® is fitted at this position, providing the edge you need to optimize your performance and compete at the next level.
Nitrous Oxide - Laughing Gas
Nitrous oxide is simply a gas used to relax extremely nervous patients. It is colorless, sweet-smelling, non-irritating, and allows for safer more comfortable dental care. The patient breathes in a combination of nitrous oxide and oxygen while enjoying a remarkable depth of relaxation. It virtually eliminates the fear, nervousness, and tension some patients experience with dental procedures. You remain in complete control, are conscious, and can follow directions.
What are the advantages? Laughing gas, which is what nitrous oxide is sometimes referred to as works very rapidly. It reaches the brain within 20 seconds, and relaxation and painkilling properties develop after two or three minutes.
The amount of gas being used can be altered from moment to moment allowing us to increase or decrease the depth of sedation. Every patient’s tolerance level is different. Some patients require very little gas, while others require larger doses. We monitor each patient’s vital signs closely to make sure they are receiving a correct safe dosage of nitrous oxide.
